No Pets Filter for Airbnb does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All processing happens locally in your browser.
This extension does not collect, store, or share any personal information. Specifically:
The extension intercepts Airbnb search API responses locally in your browser to identify pet-friendly listings. It makes an additional request to Airbnb’s own API (with a pets filter parameter) to compare results. This request goes directly from your browser to Airbnb’s servers — no data passes through any third-party or Just Software servers.
The extension uses chrome.storage.local to save your preferences (filter on/off, display mode, floating pill visibility, pill theme, and pill position). This data never leaves your browser and is automatically removed when the extension is uninstalled.
To support scanning on fresh page loads, the extension also caches a small request template — the URL, method, and headers of the last search request that Airbnb’s own page made — in the browser’s site storage (localStorage) for the Airbnb site. This cache contains no personal information beyond what Airbnb’s page already uses for its own requests, never leaves your device, and is never sent anywhere by the extension. Because it lives in the site’s storage rather than the extension’s, it may remain after the extension is uninstalled; it can be removed at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for airbnb.com.
This extension does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics providers, or advertising networks.
